What is it about?
A post-exercise cold water immersion employed within a recovery period relevant to half time intervals of team sports, improves the performance of subsequent submaximal exercise in the heat. In this study we demonstrated that this effect is also apparent in normothermic conditions, showing that compared with passive rest, a short-term cold water immersion improved subsequent intermittent high-intensity exercise which was designed to reflect the work performed at the high-intensity domain in team sports.
