What is it about?
We report the results of a prospectively maintained multicentric Registry evaluating the impact of time-metrics on the outcome of 291 low DWI-ASPECTS acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients subjected to mechanical thrombectomy within 6 hours since symptoms' onset. From the results of our study, onset-to-recanalization emerges as the strongest interval impacting outcome in this peculiar subpopulation of AIS patients. Nonetheless, even at earlier time-points there seems to be an ischemic lesion burden threshold which limits the beneficial effect of endovascular recanalization.
