Why is it important?
This study pools data from previously published research (meta-analysis) to characterise the changes in cardiac output across healthy pregnancy. This method allowed new insight into the pattern of change. In clinical practice, the normative values calculated from the analyses could be used to identify maternal maladaptations to pregnancy.
