What is it about?
Gender equality influences the knowledge, autonomy and utilisation of contraception and healthcare; thereby affecting maternal and child health. This systematic review revealed that gender equality and contraception concurrently affect maternal and under-five child mortality. Addressing women’s rights is key to improving maternal and child health outcomes globally.
