What is it about?
Depression is common among residents of aged care facilities and, in this setting, is often associated with loss of function. Behavioural activation is a simple intervention capable of decreasing the severity of depressive symptoms in people of all ages, but its efficacy in aged care settings is yet to be established. The BAN-Dep trial will test the effectiveness of behavioural activation for the treatment of depression among older Australians living in aged care facilities.
