Why is it important?
This study will review original source documentation available in medical charts to adjudicate case of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases. Once the administrative database will be validated for the considered diseases, it can be used for outcome research including pharmacoepidemiology, health service research and quality of care research. In general, validation studies of administrative data are related to their context, and are not immediately generalisable to other settings.
