What is it about?
Since the Alma-Ata Declaration 40 years ago there has been relatively little research conducted on models of primary health care delivery, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). In this study, an expert panel of primary health care practitioners and academics and policy-makers from LMIC generated a prioritised list of research questions in this area. Literature reviews confirmed that these are indeed gaps in our knowledge, and research teams in LMIC developed implementation plans to answer the top four ranked research questions.
