What is it about?

Our study showed that 13.4% of patients with type 2 diabetes should be referred to hepatologists for assessment of NAFLD according to the european guidelines. Moreover we showed that biomarkers of liver steatosis were associated with the prevalence of microalbuminuria, whereas biomarkers of liver fibrosis were associated with prevalence of both cardiovascular and renal disease.
