What is it about?
Diabetic people have poorer wound healing in the cornea. The reason for this is not yet fully understood. There may be neuropathy involving the cornea which affects epithelial function. This may not be directly related to glycemic control. Different kinds of diabetic animal models can be 'wounded' on the cornea to understand this better.
