This editorial presents a discussion of the importance of controlling for exposure when determining risk for subsequent knee and ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury after an initial ACL injury and reconstruction. We provide a reanalysis of a recent systematic review demonstrating the benefits of using return-to-sport (RTS) testing after ACL reconstruction.
