What is it about?

B12 is an important vitamin which has a role in ensuring the proper function of human nervous system and production of blood cells. It is mostly present in animal based food sources. Relying exclusively on a plant based diet (vegetarian/strict vegans), without using any supplements containing B12, can lead to it's deficiency in human body. The deficiency may manifest as tiredness, numbness of hands or feet, low blood cell production, fever or in some cases as low blood pressure. If treated early, most of the problems caused by the deficiency of vitamin B12 are completely reversible.
