What is it about?
Perampanel is a medication used in the treatment of Epilepsy disorders. When taken in overdose it has the potential to cause prolonged unconsciousness for many days but clinical experience with Perampanel overdoses is limited. An admission to an Intensive Care Unit for further care may be required for Perampanel overdoses. This case report highlights the considerations involved for healthcare staff in looking after patients with Perampanel overdoses and how a recovery may take considerable time.
