What is it about?

This paper evaluated a community-based weight management programme by asking people about their experiences and how it could be improved. We also looked at changes in weight and wellbeing.

This is important, because we spoke to health care professionals who referred people, as well as those taking part in the programme. We were then able to build in some changes to how the programme ran, having listened to their perspectives. One of our findings was that some health care professionals struggle to discuss 'weight' with patients, and also that women were more likely to take part.
