What is it about?

Multicomponent Ti–Cr–Al–N coatings with crystallites from 10 to 100 nm in size are obtained by vacuumarc ionplasma deposition. The dependence of the changes in the structure and phase composi tion of coatings on the parameters of deposition is established.

Why is it important?

Multicomponent coatings have higher elastic characteristics and, consequently, higher resistance to plastic deformation. The introduction of additional components into mononitridebased coatings causes an increase in the level of microstrains and a decrease in the crystallite size [7, 8] and appears to be a good tech nique for obtaining coatings characterized by both high strength and viscosity.

Perspectives

We are engaged in the production, research and application of Fe,Ni,Co,W, Mo nanopowders and their oxides. We make efforts to do high quality, extensive and thoroughgoing works with application the most actual research instruments.
