What is it about?

This describes the genome sequence of an methanogenic archaeon. Ruminant livestock (cattle, sheep and deer) produce methane which contributes to the green house gasses in the atmosphere. Archaea that reside in the rumen are responsible for the production of methane. The sequenced genome offers insights into the biology of this archaeon.
