What is it about?
This publication is about the draft genome of the recently isolated sulfate-reducing bacterium Candidatus Desulfotomaculum copahuensis. Many genes related to the sulfur and carbon metabolism are investigated and it is a new contribution to the pool of genomes that have been recently sequenced.

Why is it important?
It is important because it is the first newly sulfate reducing bacterium that has been isolated from Copahue volcano, and maybe it is indigenous from there. On the other hand, as it was said before the draft genome of this bacteria contributes to the general pool of genomes that have been recently sequenced.
