Why is it important?

It shows a case study of social inclusion practices in an Australian community sport organization (CSO) built through interviews, focus groups, secondary data, and documentary evidence. Paradoxically, some of the practices that contributed to social inclusion at the club for Muslim women resulted in social exclusion for non-Muslim women.

Perspectives

In the Australian context, despite a groundswell of policies, programs and other initiatives that have been put in place to address social inclusion, program outcomes have not been meticulously evaluated. This study provides a useful framework for evaluating social inclusion outcomes.
