What is it about?

In this paper, we propose a method for artworks monitoring, able to measure simultaneously both out-of-plane and in-plane displacements. Our aim is to keep the method as simple as possible to increase its possibility to be routinely used in restoration laboratories. Though simple, our method is tailored to some specific needs of artwork diagnostics.

Why is it important?

With respect to other existing methods, the proposed approach is more simple and able to detect deformation induced by the environment on artworks on a time interval of hours or days.

Perspectives

I hope this idea could lead to useful applications in artwork diagnostics
