Why is it important?

We used a variety of methods to ascertain their knowledge, attitude, practice and available resources for rendering primary eye care according to the existing guidelines. This study was important because it highlighted the strengths and weaknesses in the services rendered; thus providing opportunities for improvement

Perspectives

Primary eye (and health) care is an area which provides tremendous opportunity for collaboration between specialists in the tertiary centres and community health workers who are closest to the people in need of health services.
