When subjects are linked, including information of the structure of connectedness is crucial in balancing the treated and the control group in observational studies

This analysis of the causal effect of international trade policy - as for any other impact evaluation analysis - must take into account the connectivity between units of analysis. The paper offers a very simple procedure in dealing with the network structure of the connected units in observational studies.
