Why is it important?
We found that children with higher risk for metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes also had impaired regulation of the heart compared to children with lower risk factor levels. Our results demonstrated that traditional risk factors cluster with impaired heart health already in children emphasasing early prevention of heart and metabolic diseases.
