Why is it important?
Cost of pediatric T1D in Greece was similar or lower than other European countries and supply costs, especially for pump therapy, accounted for the majority of direct annual cost. Patients on pump therapy had the best metabolic control with potential cost savings as a result of averted future long-term complications. Efforts should be targeted towards achieving lower rates for the supplies from the providers and implementing pump therapy to all patients that could benefit from its use
