What is it about?
Plants under severe drought stress suffer from drought-induced gas bubbles inside the xylem conduits of plants. This gas bubble formation is one of the main causes of drought-induced plant mortality. Here we review the role of anatomical and physico-chemical drivers of this bubble formation and spread inside plant xylem.
