What is it about?
The leaf water potential is the most widespread measure of plant water status and the minimum value reached by a given species is used to characterize drought tolerance and risk of hydraulic dysfunction in plants. We show that the way these minimum water potentials are currently estimated is biased and propose new methods to derive statistically robust estimates.
