What is it about?
For the first time to our knowledge, we apply machine learning, a family of statistical techniques with origins in the field of artificial intelligence, to predict regional plant taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity responses to climate change. We find that while species richness may increase in the near future, the evolutionary diversity these species represent are likely to decrease, especially in the case of native taxa.
