What is it about?

Auxin is a plant hormone which controls most aspects of plant development and response to environmental cues. Its concentration in the plant tissues should be tightly controlled to prevent aberrant development. We compared auxin metabolism in conifers and in the model plant Arabidopsis and we found that the strategy adopted by conifers to maintain homeostatic level of endogenous auxin differs from all other land plants and algae studied so far.
