What is it about?
We study here how variable plant allometry is within different woody species. We show that plants with a larger distribution have a more variable allometry which we justify in terms of them having a more diverse genetic pool. Any loss of habitat, even if transient, could thus reduce the genetic pool of a species and hinder survival.
