What is it about?
In this study a virulence function is ascribed to the lipid transfer protein Scp2 in the plant-pathogenic fungus Ustilago maydis. Scp2 is specifically required during plant penetration and depends on Scp2 in peroxisomes. Scp2 is required for an even cellular distribution of peroxisomes most likely by facilitating interaction with their intracellular shuttles.
