What is it about?
Photosynthetic algae are key primary producers on our planet that live in environments teeming with microbial life such as bacteria and viruses that impact their basic biology. Here we review recent advances in the field of algal biotic interactions that have come from the application of modern omics methods (e.g., genomics) to these species.
