Evidence of an evolutionary hourglass pattern in herbivory‐induced transcriptomic responses

What is it about?

Using phylotranscriptomic analysis, we show that herbivory-induced transcriptomic responses display an evolutionary hourglass pattern in Nicotiana attenuata, which is likely a result of differential evolutionary constraints of the functional modules involved in the defense signaling cascade.
