What is it about?

We synthesize data from tropical rainforests to investigate environmental controls on the partitioning of net primary production to wood production using statistical modelling approaches.

Why is it important?

We provide new insights into the mechanisms driving wood production in tropical forests, allowing us to conclude that projected climate change could increase carbon sequestration in low-productive montane forests, but adversely affecting high-productive lowland forests.
