What is it about?
FocA belongs to the large FNT (formate-nitrite transporter) family of anion channels and translocates formate bi-directionally across the cytoplasmic membrane of bacteria, archaea and certain single-celled eukaryotes. We show in this study that the soluble N-terminal domain of E. coli FocA is required for both efflux and influx of formate.
