Inactivation of AdeABC and AdeIJK efflux pumps elicits specific nonoverlapping transcriptional and phenotypic responses in Acinetobacter baumannii

What is it about?

Active efflux of antibiotics from cells is an important factor of clinical antibiotic resistance. We show that transporters that carry out this efflux are integrated in normal bacterial physiology and are responsible for different aspects of bacterial growth ad survival.
