What is it about?

Y. pestis is a Category A Select Agent due to its high lethality and potential for engineered antibiotic resistance. We identify cooperative activities of two major bacterial surface components - the protein Ail and lipopolysaccharide - and describe their importance for promoting Y. pestis survival in human blood, antibiotic resistance, and cell envelope integrity.
