What is it about?

We have discovered by reverse genetics that M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis S-type strains, more adapted in sheep, produce a specific peptidolipid. This new molecular signature in the Mycobacterium cell wall involving cell mediated responses that may form the basis in patho-adaptation of these bacteria.
