What is it about?
The fungus Candida albicans, the cause of severe diseases in humans, is able to communicate and control important virulence attributes via a small secreted molecule, farnesol. Here, we show that EED1, a gene which is known for its importance in proper mycelium formation of the fungus, is also involved in the regulation of farnesol sensing and production and hence plays a role in intercellular communication.
