What is it about?
The Agoudal impact structure is totally eroded, Shatter cones found in the site are the most evident proof of the existence of an ancient impact structure. Repartition of the shatter cones in the field allow to estimate the original diameter of the structure at least at 1 to 3 km. In the same area, an iron meteorite has been found first, the age of the meteorite is much more younger than the estimate age of formation of the impact structure excluding the genetic relation between both events.

Why is it important?
We use in this work for the first time the repartition of SC in the field, in order to constrain the size of the original impact structure. This is one of the rarest exemples in the word where an impact structure and a meteorite are found in the same area and are not related to each other. Agoudal is the first impact structure found in Morocco.
