What is it about?

A clinical trial to compare function, patient satisfaction and quality of life of patients with lost posterior lower teeth with those who had all missing teeth replaced with removable partial dentures. Following clinical trial rules, patients were enrolled sequentially and randomized into one of two treatment groups: a denture and no denture group. Analysis of data indicated that patients ages were adults below 55 years, and majority were from the disadvantaged group. Patients from the no denture group were generally more satisfied with their function, quality of life and their non-denture status compared to those who were in the denture group.

Why is it important?

Dentures are costly and patients generally do not wear these. They have more complaints about the dentures

Perspectives

It is very good to conduct clinical trials and report these as these are important rigorous research. The results are thus very credible and reliable
