What is it about?
The ear and the flag leaf are the main organs contributing to grain filling in C3 cereals. Carbon isotope composition is an integrative and non-intrusive technique that allows assessment of relative contributions of different organs. We assessed it against different environmental conditions such as water stress and nitrogen deficiency, and comparing modern genotypes against old landraces.
