This study is about the relationship between college-enrolled youth and their parents within a cultural context of characterized by strong family values and family belonging.

Why is it important?

Study findings indicate that youth who balance family obligations with their college education rely upon the sense that their parents are supportive of their goals and share them.

Perspectives

This is among my most prized studies because it showed how parenting can be depicted as a mutual endeavor between parent and child as opposed to the traditional model of the parent influencing the child.
