What is it about?
This paper explores how crowdsourced data describing the world around us is used by real people. Here, we show that event the best trained professionals in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) rate crowdsourced data highly, as high in fact as their own professionally created data! This crowdsourced data (or Volunteered Geographic Information, VGI) is most helpful when the environment changes often, say shops on a hughstreet as opposed to a 1 million year old mountain.
