What is it about?

There is little evidence on the various non-pharmacological and/or pharmacological techniques aimed at the management of children's dental anxiety. In this systematic review, we seek for the evidence regarding cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).

Why is it important?

As far as we are concerned, this is the first systematic review on CBT for dental anxiety in paediatric dentistry. Is summarizes the current knowledge on this topic.

Perspectives

CBT has good potential to be routinely recommended for children with dental anxiety, but clinical trials are needed to improve its usage.
