This publication gives you an overview of proteins, defensive systems and mechanisms of innate immunity in the four classes of jawed vertebrates. It compare the similitudes and the differences between them.

Why is it important?

Thera are different reviews that addressed the immune mechanisms in the different classes of vertebrates but this is one of the few that compares this systems across the four major classes of jawed vertebrates.

Perspectives

In my opinion is an interesting publication that helps to understand the connection between the innate immune mechanisms of jawed vertebrates and gives also a mechanistic and a phylogenic perspective.
