ACE-2, Ang 1-7, Ang 1-9 system is believed to protect against the development and progression of heart failure, therefore, the creation of drugs that can activate this system might be a new treatment option for heart failure patients

Why is it important?
Heart failure is one of the most leading cause for death worldwide. The current therapeutic options could, to a certain limit, slow the progression of the disease. Therefore, there is an urging need for developing more effective drugs for this disease based on our understanding for the different factors that play positive and negative roles in the development of heart failure.
Perspectives
The development of drugs that can activate ACE-2, Ang 1-7, Ang 1-9 system might aid the current treatment options for heart failure
