What is it about?
This paper focuses on the patient experiences of adjusting to life after undergoing bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. The findings highlight that many patients experience changes to their social lives as a result of surgery; these are usually underpinned by new eating habits and a changing physical appearance. These adjustments are embedded in a perception of the attitudes towards the social risks after surgery. Three risk attitude profiles were constructed from the data.
