What is it about?
We suggested for the first time that glyocgen phosphorylase inhibitors are capable of improving beta cell insulin synthesis and secretion. We provide evidence that glycogen phosphorylase inhibitors induce cellular glycogen that provides a scaffold for signaling proteins and hence improve insulin receptor signaling.
