What is it about?

We havee reviewed the trials where new analgesic treatments are studied for procedural pain, and we've seen that in most cases the babies entrolled as controls are denied the common minimum and validated analgesic treatment. The aim is to compare the new trreatment with no treatment, but this is unfair.

Why is it important?

Because babiesm, though little and non vernbal, deserve the same right to analgesia than older patients. As they never accepted to exclude analgesia from their treatment, caregivers' committment should be to provide it always.

Perspectives

To improve the awareness that babies are full patients and full persons.
