Why is it important?
Fish farming is a sector of animal production that has grown substantially in the world. However, fish farmers still face obstacles to the expansion of intensive systems due to the presence of infectious diseases.
Perspectives
Essential oil from L. alba (EOLA) showed beneficial effects as antimicrobial against Aeromonas spp. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the investigation of the effect of EOLA on nutritional physiology in other species of fish relevant to aquaculture, such as Nile tilapia.
