Why is it important?

This article confirms previous findings by Mjosberg et al of an increased number of ILC2 in nasal polyps in patients with CRSwNP and shows for the first time an inverse relation of the number of ILC2 with the number of previous sinus surgeries. This indicates that ILC2 are decreased in recalcitrant CRS patients (patients that do not respond to medical and surgical therapy).
