Why is it important?
Sorghum is a powerhouse crop in drier regions that supports more than 500 million people. As the regions are becoming drier due to climate change, many studies have shown that sorghum yield can be negatively affected. it becomes imperative to develop climate-resilient crop cultivars that are able to withstand current and projected drought stress.
